Zinda Hai Bhutto Zinda Hai!

When we say “Zinda Hai Bhutto Zinda Hai”, some people make fun of this slogan because of their biased and narrow thought, without thinking about their conduct. These individuals were not aware of history.

They do not realize that throughout political history, many great leaders have reached most of popularity and have sparked revolutions that have changed the course of events, but, over time, history has proven that their political philosophies were defective, making them politically out of purpose.

These leaders, despite their mass appeal, have often obtained public support by promoting extremism and provocation.

The change or the upheavals they caused, although initially popular, ultimately proved to be disastrous, both for themselves, their political parties and the people they claimed to represent.

These figures have included politicians from the right and the left, nationalists, religious ideologists and military opportunists.

There are some political leaders in history whose philosophies remain alive and still relevant today. We can really say that these leaders are always alive, both spatially and temporally, because of the lasting relevance of their thought and their political approach. One of these leaders is Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Shaheed Bhutto was a visionary statesman with a deep understanding of history. He designed his political vision with particular attention to historical experiences. His political philosophy is based on three fundamental principles:

First, the interests of his country and his country must always pray to priority in foreign policy. National dignity and sovereignty should in no case be compromised in the circumstances.

Second, that the internal problems of a nation must be resolved from the interior, empowering the classes, nationalities and oppressed and marginalized social groups. Their right to resources must be recognized, they must be economically high and guaranteed fundamental human rights, including civil freedoms.

Third, to achieve the two above principles, we must follow the path of a long, patient and democratic struggle, a struggle which is peaceful, durable and capable of achieving progressive progress and lasting victories.

This democratic path is much higher than any destructive adventure or chaos. History shows that chaos only serves the interests of imperialist and anti-penople forces, because it undermines the gains obtained thanks to peaceful democratic movements.

This is why these forces fear and target those who defend peaceful democratic struggle.

The unrivaled sacrifices of the Bhutto family and the leaders and workers of the Pakistani people party (PPP) are proof of this unshakable commitment. The trip of the PPP of peaceful struggle and sacrifice continues to date.

If today Pakistan has a federal, parliamentary and democratic constitution … If democracy exists … If the federative units and the people have achieved something, it is because of Shaheed Bhutto and the Pakistani peoples party which advanced its vision.

Factile in the political philosophy of Bhutto, the PPP continues its journey as a true representative party of the people. And that’s why Bhutto is still alive today.

To understand the political vision and philosophy of Shaheed Bhutto, it is essential to study your writings, interviews and in -depth discourse. On November 30, 1967, during the founding session of the Pakistan People’s Party, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto presented the “basic documents” he had written, which were officially adopted by the party. These documents have said: “Islam is our religion, democracy is our policy, socialism is our economy and the people are the source of power.”

To develop these fundamental principles, Shaheed Bhutto wrote a detailed program for Pakistan People’s Party in April 1968, in which he said:

“Pakistan is taken in a whirlwind. When we look back over the last 20 years of our national life, we see a dangerous trend that has emerged alongside international and subcontinental challenges. It would be unreasonable to consider this crisis as a routine of the period or the result of a natural process. This dominant negative trend must be reversed. ”

A scholar and a political leader like Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was born once a century. He has seen situations through a large international and historic objective. His thought has never been superficial; It was deep, thoughtful and visionary. As he founded the Pakistan People’s Party, the World Communist Movement was at its peak and the socialist revolutions swept various regions. However, Shaheed Bhutto had his eyes on the future. He planned the possible results of the communist movement.

Rather than raising slogans in favor of the communist dictatorship, he declared democracy as his political path, something that even the socialist states were finally forced to adopt, but only after having endured immense troubles. Shaheed Bhutto declared socialism not as a policy, but as an economic system, a distinction that he clearly articulated in the basic documents of the party and its detailed program.

He argued that capitalism in Pakistan was fundamentally different from that of Europe or other developed capitalist nations. In these countries, capitalism has worked alongside democracy and civil freedoms. In Pakistan, however, he had become an operating tool, concentrated in the hands of 22 families.

These families have looted wealth in the name of capitalism, opposed democratic rights and were aligned with dictatorial regimes. They did not direct their factories with full capacity or allowed wider industrialization. Under the cover of industries and loans, they badly deposit the capital of the state.

Consequently, new employment opportunities were not created and the rural majority continued to suffer from extreme poverty. Above all, basic documents did not reject private investments. Instead, they clearly said:

“Private investment will be authorized only on the basis of merit, efficiency and legitimate profit, manufacturing, and not on the patronage of influential families or corrupt elements within the bureaucracy. Private investment can be beneficial, but only when the working class is treated as an equal partner for profit. ”

Shaheed Bhutto believed in socialism, but he stressed that socialism cannot be imposed by decrees or a dictatorship. The establishment of a classless society and socialist and the elimination of capitalist exploitation must occur through a historical process. This trip, he said, could only be completed by democracy, within the framework of a political program focused on the people.

Another remarkable achievement by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto has not only given Pakistan a parliamentary and democratic federal system by the government through the 1973 Constitution, but also approached the long -standing grievances by granting maximum autonomy to federating units, thus reducing the feeling of deprivation among them.

Shaheed Bhutto also provided Pakistan with a neutral and independent foreign policy, which he developed in his book “The myth of independence”. He opposed Pakistan into a pawn of American interests and has constantly recommended to strengthen links with China. However, it was just as clear that the national interests of Pakistan had to remain essential, even in his relations with China.

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto offered a historically proven solution to each national crisis with their unshakable conviction that the people are the real source of power. In the event of a crisis, he said, the only viable path is to return to the people. It is the essence of bhuttoism, an ideology rooted in popular will and democratic commitment. No other ideology has proven to be as effective or durable.

Unfortunately, Pakistan has been conducted several times in directions unlike the vision and philosophy of Shaheed Bhutto. The country was attracted by the strategic games of the global powers, of the military regimes have been imposed and, at various times, ethnic, linguistic, regional, religious and supposedly the political extremism were deliberately cultivated to counter the influence of the Pakistani peoples (PPP) party.

Today, Pakistan finds itself once again trapped in the very whirlwind Shaheed Bhutto has warned in its prophetic book, “if I am murdered”. After his judicial execution, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto supported his political philosophy and gave his life in the struggle to save the nation of the crisis.

Now Bilawal Bhutto Zardari continues this trip. In the minds of the words of Shaheed Bhutto, Bilawal forges a link with the people, align with their hopes, their needs and their aspirations. Shaheed Bhutto remains alive, not only in memory, but in leadership, because he chose to kiss martyrdom in the hands of a dictator rather than being condemned by history.

Today, history is witness to the validity of Bhutto’s political philosophy. In the current national context, there is an urgent need to revisit and achieve with the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
