Port Studio Virtuos believes that it would be easy to bring an Xbox series game to the Nintendo Switch 2, given their technical similarities.
In an interview with WCCFTECH, Alex Heise, business development director at Virtuos North America, and Eoin O’Grady, technical director of the Virtuos subsidiary, Black Shamrock, have discussed new material from Nintendo and its technical capacities.
According to O’Grady, the GPUs of the two consoles are similar in food despite the Switch 2 behaving lower than the Xbox series and offering the Deep Learning Super (DLSS) sampling of Nvidia, but thinks that it would always be an easy task to wear a series of the series that occurs at 60 images per second to the last console.
“On the GPU level, the Switch 2 works slightly below the series S; this difference is more visible in portable mode,” said O’Grady. “However, the S series does not support technologies like DLSS, which is Switch 2. This makes the GPU capacities of the two comparable consoles overall.
The technical director noted, however, that the processor, there is a “clearer distinction between the two consoles” and the Switch 2 is closer to the PlayStation 4 in this regard because it has a slightly more powerful processor.
“Since most matches tend to be more linked to the GPU than the CPU when they are well optimized, the impact of this difference depends largely on the specific game and its frequency of target images,” said O’Grady.
“Any shipping of play to 60 images per second in the series should easily wear the Switch 2. Likewise, a game of the 30 FPS series which is linked to the GPU should also wear games well with complex physics, animations or other elements with high processor intensity can cause additional challenges to reach 30 or 60 images per second or require additional optimization during port.”
Cyberpunk 2077Who cannot reach 60 images per second on Xbox Series Sries but not consistent on the PS4, has just received an official Switch 2 port. However, this version does not offer 60 images per second in the same way as the S series, and rather offers two modes to choose when they are anchored, including a 40fps performance mode and a 30FPS quality mode.
