- Gmail will now display how many times you have received subscription emails
- The tool supports the unsubscribe in one click and the sender blocking
- Google also uses AI to reduce scams
Gmail deploys a new feature “Manage subscriptions” for mobile and web users to tackle all the old subscription emails they have collected over the years in order to help unclog the reception boxes for emails.
The new tool will allow users to display and unsubscribe from all subscriptions by active e-mail in one place, from the application or website navigation drawer.
Initially tested earlier in 2025, the functionality is now widely deployed on Android, iOS and Web, with full availability in the next two weeks.
Gmail wants to allow you to unsubscribe more easily from the unwanted mail
In addition to listing all the active subscriptions of newspapers, subscriptions and shops, the popular messaging provider will also help you identify the subscriptions to be cut by showing the number of e-mails that you have received from each sender in recent weeks.
The sender who support an unsubscription with one click will be the easiest to eliminate, but Google has thought of those who do not do so by also building a shipping tool in the functionality.
Distinct EmailTooltester research suggests that the average email user now receives more than 80 messages per day, almost half of which (49%) are spam – the equivalent of 162 billion spam emails sent worldwide every day.
Although Google claims that AI-based filters have helped reduce the emails of the 35%scam, this only deals with malicious emails. With many users who now have two or more decades of online life behind them, the number of unprecedented diffusion lists afflicting Gmail reception boxes is at a record level, many of which arise from the increased protection of consumers, such as the opt-in bulletin.
