Peshawar:
The chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on a political change in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday, which suggests that such a change would be more appropriate if it came from the ranks of Pakistan Tehreek-I-insaf (PTI), which is currently a majority in provincial assembly.
Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, the head of Jui-F declared that it was unimportant that the change was emerged from an internal dynamic or an external pressure-what counted, he insisted is that the change was now imperative.
“If PTI claims to have a majority, the change must come from the inside,” he noted. “It should not seem to be that the opposition has designed the withdrawal of the provincial government.”
The head of Jui-F allegedly alleged that PTI’s mandate in the province was “artificial” and lacked real public support. He stressed that any internal restructuring within PTI would be a preferable path to political stability.
In the next elections in the Senate, Fazl said that consultations with other political parties were in their early days and refused to comment more.
He also moved away from the federal government, declaring: “If I agreed with government decisions, I would have been part of this.
Despite strong criticism, he argued that if the government was to face an assault or an external conflict, it would be held in the national interest. “Even with a thousand grievances, we will stay in a line if the war is imposed on the country,” he said.
The head of Jui-F also expressed his deep concern about the deterioration of the situation of the law and the order in KP, warning that the province could no longer afford political and security instability.
“The ordinary citizen no longer feels safe. People hesitate before leaving their home,” he said, calling for a conference in all parties to fight against the security crisis. He said that JUI-F would be open to dialogue with other opposition parties on this issue.

Commenting on his own past mandate, he said peace had prevailed during his government. “There was no control points, and people moved freely. The parties can disagree, but there is no enmity among us,” he said.
Reiterating his long -standing opposition to the merger of the old tribal areas administered by the Federal Government (FATA) in KP, he criticized all political parties for what he called a hasty decision. “Everyone jumped in this flow, but we continued to warn that it was not going. Now we have to accept that it is a mistake,” he said.
He argued that the reversal of the merger would be in the national interest and wondered why the extension of the judicial and administrative systems to the region had not materialized.
The chief Jui-F also mentioned that a great tribal Jirga was scheduled for tomorrow and expressed respect for the tribal representatives who participated.

Addressing the issue of provincial expenses, Fazl criticized the KP government for what it described as unnecessary expenses. “The funds of our province are used to appoint parliamentary secretaries and finance luxuries. It is a government born of rigging and extortion,” he said.
In response to a question about the incarceration of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said: “No politician should be in prison, although politicians find themselves there. Our goal should be the country’s progress and prosperity. ” He also pointed out that there was no objection if the children of the founder of the PTI came to Pakistan.
The head of Jui-F concluded by reiterating that his party would never seek power by undemocratic means. “Whether it is the federal or provincial government, the two are exhausted. We do not want power to be granted to us by the boots-we want the support of the people,” he added.
