- The next Donkey Kong Bananza has been criticized for occasional performance problems
- The director of the game is aware of said problems, but said that the team “prioritized pleasure and playability” first and foremost
- The game will be launched this week, July 17
As many games have pointed out, Donkey Kong Bananza Seems to have performance problems thanks to its modular destruction system of the environment. However, it seems that the Nintendo development team is well aware.
In an interview with the Vanguardia (thank you VGC), Donkey Kong Bananza Director Kazuya Takahashi answered as such when asked questions about the sometimes rocky performance of the game:
“There are several factors to consider. First, we intentionally used effects such as rush and idle to highlight the impacts. Second, because we use Voxel technology, there are times when there are major changes and destruction in the environment.
“We know that performance can drop slightly at these moments. However, as you say, overall, the game is fluid, and at points where large -scale changes occur, we have prioritized pleasure and playability.”
Takahashi does not stipulate if we can expect the title Nintendo Switch 2 to receive performance fixes after launch, but since it has now spoken openly Bananza Performance, it is certainly not something I would say is out of the table.
For me personally, I do not think that performance problems will lead my experience a lot. During my first Nintendo Switch 2, practiced earlier this year, I had the chance to play a small part of Donkey Kong Bananza, And found that the game was a ton of pleasure despite the occasional framework drops.
The game is launched this week exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, July 17, 2025.
