- Razer Thunderbolt 5 Mooring station merges the expansion of the port and SSD storage in a compact unit
- With Thunderbolt Share, the quay allows transfers of rapid files between PCs without using a network
- Manages three 4K monitors at 120 Hz via a single connection
Razer has launched a new accessory based on the latest Thunderbolt standard, designed to increase data transfer speed, graphic performance and connectivity for users who want more of their current configuration.
The Razer Thunderbolt 5 reception station supports data speeds up to 120 GB / s and causes up to three 4K screens at 120 Hz, offering a considerable bandwidth for external monitors and peripherals.
A notable feature of this device is its integrated SSD storage, up to 8 TB, which allows the quay to operate not only as a center but also as a high -speed external reader. It also consolidates eleven ports in a single unit, reducing the congestion of cables while offering flexibility to require workflows
High -speed storage meets the expansion of the port
The design includes Thunderbolt Share, which allows rapid file transfers and control between systems.
This could appeal to users who work on several PCs or wish to quickly unload projects without involving a network.
The basic version of the quay is at a price of $ 299.99, but the models with integrated storage are considerably increased, with the configuration of 8 high -end TB at a price of $ 999.99.
The question of whether this cost is justified depends on the value of users in the combination of a high -speed SSD and a new generation connectivity center in a unit.
Razer says that the new quay addresses pain points around high cooling screens, rapid movement of the files and a system extensibility, all without the need for a complete desk.
“Dock Razer Thunderbolt 5 is designed to meet the growing need for faster data transfer and robust multi-effect support,” said Travis Furst, Cahiers and Accessories chief at Razer.
“With the Razer Core X V2, we extend this experience – offering an external high -performance graphic boost which provides office graphics to laptops. Thanks to the support of the latest NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards, this is a transparent upgrade.
Although the product is marketed with professionals and content creators, the high price and niche features can limit its attraction.
The real test will be whether users find that SSD expansion and port density sufficiently convincing to replace several discreet accessories.
In addition, Razer also introduced the Core X V2, a Thunderbolt 5 external GPU case which supports full length PCIe graphics cards.
Designed for use with laptops and pocket computers, the Core X V2 is price of $ 499.99 and includes the control of fans and the 140 W load for laptop.
It serves a different but complementary audience, those who need office class graphics in a modular shell.
