- Dji Leaker of Confidence shared the first trailer for DJI Romo, of the Chinese DJI account official official
- Suggests a launch date of August 6 for the first vacuum of Dji robot
- We also have best quality images of the unusual robot vacuum cleaner
Rumors on the very first vacuum cleaner of the DJI robot – the DJI Romo – have been flying for some time, but we now have our first official trailer, with a projected launch date and good quality images showing more clearly what the bot could look like.
The video teaser was shared by Dji Leaker ordinary @jasperellens, and is apparently taken from the official account of DJI Romo Chinese. It shows two versions of the Romo side by side, with a date and an hour: August 6, 8 p.m. This suggests that the launch takes place in less than two weeks.
The launch is particularly significant because it marks a major change of management for the brand, which was previously known to make (okay, most) the best drones on the market.
Although a DJI logo is not found on the product and it is the first white plastic that I saw from #Mavicair … The official Chinese account #DJIROMO displayed this little video teaser today, showing that they would launch their first vacuum cleaner on August 6. We were also entitled to clearer imaging of the robot vacuum cleaner in real life, gracked with a second technology leak in series, Igor Bogdanov aka @quadro_news.
I want it to fly too. In general, why does Dji need a robot vacuum cleaner? 🤔 # djiromo pic.twitter.com/q3xqmwieotJuly 23, 2025
What do we know about the DJI Romo? Well, I’m almost sure that it can’t fly, so you can put these dreams from resting a bot that goes back to your stairs to clean the rooms.
From our overview inside the platform, we can clearly see a dust bag, confirming speculation that there will be an automatic dust imputation (far from being revolutionary, but nevertheless useful). The previous speculation suggested that the Romo will also have vadrouille capacities, although I see nothing that looks like a water tank in the quay.
This does not necessarily mean that the bot will not be able to clean, but it seems to suggest that it will not be able to automatically fill the on -board water tank or clean and dry the molten pads – common features among other premium Robovacs.
Based on the expertise, we know that Dji do Have, I expected to see a detection and avoidance of powerful objects. The best DJI drones on the market use vision technology and Lidar to sail with precision, as are modern Robovacs.
An unclear choice
The trailer and the additional video clip show the Robovac with a transparent upper cover, moored in a similar front load station. Previously, we did not know if this transparent plastic was part of a prototype version, but on the basis of these additional evidence, it seems that this will be part of the model that will go on the market – although on a version with a more traditional and opaque plastic cover on the platform.
Throughout my time to write on the best robot vacuums today, I have never seen one that looks like that. Although the shape of the quay looks like the Roborock Qrevo curve, the transparent case is, as far as I know, a unique characteristic. It is logical that DJI is trying to create a distinctive look for its first foray into Robovacs, and it is an aesthetic that the technological market seems to adopt for the moment. But although the displayed interiors can work, say, the Nothing Phone 3, I am not sure that it is as well suited to a vacuum of the robot.
Although it looks great in these promotional photos, I am not convinced that Roma will remain so virgin when the bot is put to work. Brilliant plastic can attract dust and hair, and it is rare that I will test a vacuum of the robot which does not end in coverage of stuffed animals within an hour or two to remove them from the box.
Nevertheless, I am delighted to see what Dji manages to deliver by performance in his first vacuum of the robot, and it seems that I might not have too long to wait.
