A British delegation in Pakistan to examine the air security protocols

A British delegation arrived in Pakistan to assess the country’s air security standards, Express News reported on Monday.

The delegation of the British Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will examine the security standards of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

This evaluation is a crucial step towards the recovery by Pakistani carriers of air operations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The Director General of the PCAA, Nadir Shafi Dar, and his team of experts welcome the delegation.

During the visit, several high -level meetings will take place between the two parties, focused on air security protocols, documentation examination and operational procedures.

The British delegation will also go to airlines to verify their membership in international standards. In recent months, CAA officials have initiated a series of technical discussions with the United Kingdom.

CAA officials are optimistic about the positive results of the British delegation visit.

Earlier, Nadir Shafi Dar, CEO of the PCAA, who will lead the local team during the audit, said: “We are ready to inform British officials”. The audit will take place from January 27 to February 6, 2025.

Previously, PIA had started its international air operations from New Gwadar International Airport, with the inaugural flight taking off on Friday for the Omanaise Mascate capital.

A spokesperson for PIA said that the inaugural flight, the PK-197, was carrying 39 passengers.

High PIA officials accompanied them to the airport. According to the spokesperson, the national airline is a weekly flight on the Gwadar-Mascate road.
