- Developer Ninja Theory is reportedly working on a third Infernal Blade game
- Windows Central editor Jez Corden says the studio Mara Project is not actively worked
- The next Infernal Blade the game will apparently be “more interactive” and “more fun” than previous installments
Ninja Theory would no longer actively work on Mara Project and is currently developing a third part in its Infernal Blade series.
That’s according to Windows Central editor Jez Corden on the Xbox Two Podcast (via IGN), who claimed the studio’s next project will be “more interactive.” Infernal Blade game.
“From what I understand, the next match [from Ninja Theory] East Infernal Blade 3“, Corden said. “And it’s going to be a little more interactive than Infernal Blade 1 and 2.
“I don’t know what the exact nature of Infernal Blade 3 it’s going to be like, if it’s meant to be Infernal Blade 3but it looks like it will be in the Infernal Blade universe, and it seems like they want to make it more of a “game”, you know, and broaden the appeal to some extent.
Corden also claimed that the studio is not currently working on Mara Projectwhich he calls a “concept” rather than an actual game.
“You shouldn’t expect Mara Project be a thing,’ he said.Mara Project It was just a concept, it’s not a game, and it’s not a game. [Ninja Theory] currently working on. Maybe it’s something they’ll work on eventually, but Mara Project is not a game under development [at] Ninja Theory.”
Mara Project was announced in 2020 alongside The Sage of Senua: Hellblade 2. In 2021, Ninja Theory showed off the technology powering the experimental horror game, but no gameplay was shown at the time.
Corden’s comments may have some validity, as reports in late 2024 suggested that Ninja Theory’s next project had already been approved by Microsoft following the release of Infernal Blade 2. Could this project be Infernal Blade 3? We’ll have to wait and see.
