- The new Chrome code revealed that Notebooklm will be preinstalled on Chromeos
- Notebooklm is a powerful AI tool for educational work and analysis
- It is not confirmed if it will be deployed in an update or only available on new ChromeBooks
Google has announced a new suite of Gemini AI features to come to Chromeos, including Notebooklm, which will soon be shipped to the default equipment. It will soon be available in the application drawer on ChromeBooks, as evidenced by a code change for Chromium Gerrit.
Notebooklm is a tool fed by AI to summarize and analyze documents, videos and other content forms. You download sources, including PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, audio and the Google suite with answers generated by Google Gemini.
The AI tool is currently available via its dedicated website, but it is not something that has been largely marketed or pushed by Google, even with all the new updates and advanced made around Gemini in recent months.
Google will add notebooklm to preinstalled web applications in its operating system. However, it is not currently known if it will apply in an update for all Chromeos users or if it will become standard in all new games, such as those to come from Acer this summer.
Notebooklm is not only exclusive to Chromeos, as Google Gemini feature can be used by any Chrome (or Chrome) user. If you were not aware, then you are now, which means that the best laptops as well as the best Chromebooks can benefit from one of the best AI tools to do the work.
Notebooklm has been available for users since July 2023, but there is a good chance that it could be the first time you hear about it. Developed by Google Labs and propelled by Gemini, it was initially designed mainly as a research assistant and notes before its versatility developed with a series of updates during the last 19 months.
It is a powerful tool for understanding large amounts of information, because it can simplify the otherwise complicated documentation for educational use. It has recently been announced that Mind Maps will arrive on Notebooklm, which works for both free and paid services of the program, with audio previews applying more than podcasts. It quickly becomes one of our favorite learning tools, and it only improves over time.
