- A beta version of Google Chrome Canary has revealed a new shared screen feature
- It has been updated twice and renamed since its first discovery
- It is not yet available for the public, but should go out soon
Google Chrome’s latest beta version has any new shared screen feature. This feature allows you to use two windows in a single tab and even to dynamically modify the size of the windows for improved productivity.
Dedicated by the user X Leopeva64, the new feature of the Google Chrome shared screen screen now seems known as “Show side by side”. However, it was first available in the drop -down menu in the form “Tabs split with Active tab”.
Aside from the names of name, the functionality is identical between the two beta updates; You can merge two windows in the browser under a single larger tab, then you can resize both sides, which means that you will not have to manually slide two broken windows together or exchange tabs.
Although confirmed is not yet fully functional, plans are also in place so that the handle (space between the tabs) is also rebuilt. With a larger division gap, you can better separate the two tabs or completely minimize the gap for a seamless encompassing window.
The feature is not yet live for regular Google Chrome users, as it is currently only available in a Chrome Canary test version. Since it has already been updated twice since it was discovered earlier in the month, we do not know how it will work when it is finally deployed in an update for everyone.
Despite the way Google Chrome can be demanding on your RAM and your processor, there is no debate on the fact that it is one of the best web browsers you can use in 2025. This new shared screen tool is a smaller update than what we have traditionally seen deployed, but it is something that could be a productivity center for those who study and need and need web access.
This seems particularly good for users of laptops or people working with a smaller computer instructor, because it will not be necessary to clumsily try to take several windows together in a cramped space. Likewise, with an adjustable scaling at each tab, all under a single umbrella. If you are someone who research and you need the greater source than the place where you write, it can be easily done, and vice versa. This is another step in improving the speed and customization of chrome as a web browser at a time when more users require more functionalities or go elsewhere.
Google Chrome Canary is a beta version of the web browser for developers that is updated every night. Although it can be unstable, it gives an overview of new features and improvements long before their arrival in the rest of the users (if they appear at all). Things are tested automatically, and generally not too much, so it’s a chance to play with things that can still work.
Recent chrome updates have included long -term safety features for Chromeos and stability updates for desktop, iOS and Android computers. Previously, in October 2024, Google published performance checks for the web browser so that you can make it work faster or more efficiently. The same month, the company made its plans to suppress advertising blockers and other unauthorized extensions on its online store.
