Former Minister and Senator of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Abbas Khan Afridi, died after undergoing serious burning injuries in an explosion of gas leakage at his residence in the Kohat-Pakhtunkhwa Kohat district, reported the Kohat district of the PTV state.
The incident took place on Thursday and Afridi, as well as three others, were initially moved to CMH Kohat.
Due to the severity of his injuries, he was then transferred to the Kharian Burn Center for subsequent treatment. Despite the efforts to save him, Afridi succumbed to his injuries.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep sadness about the loss of Afridi, offering prayers for the high ranks of the deceased in the afterlife and for the strength of his family during this difficult period, according to a report of the press associated with Pakistan managed by the State.
The president of the Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, also exercised condolences, recognizing the important contributions of the deceased senator to the nation.
The federal minister of the Division of Power, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, shared his sorrow, recalling Afrid’s commitment to serve the people. Leghari has described Afridi as a dedicated figure that has worked tirelessly for public and national affairs, reported by the state managed by the state.
Abbas Khan Afridi was the brother of former MPa PPP Amjad Afridi and the son of former senator Shamim Khan Afridi.
Family sources have confirmed that the funeral prayers for the late the senator will be held in Babri Banda, Kohat, with details that will be announced later.
