Dhaka: The annual meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was part of a cloud of uncertainty after India began to lobby member nations to oppose the collection planned in Dacca, Bangladesh, sources confirmed on Friday.

The opposition of India, which would have been due to the place of Bangladesh, has now become a large -scale effort to prevent the meeting from taking place. Sources have said that the Indian government and the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) have launched backstage campaigns, urging member advice to skip the session and offer various incentives in exchange.

In a parallel effort, the president of the ICC, Jay Shah, also began to lobby, urging member advice to write letters opposing the Dhaka meeting and to retain participation.

According to the initiates, Sri Lanka and now Oman supported the position of India and opposed the meeting which is held in Dacca. However, sources have added that a majority of ACC members continue to support the event in advance as planned and have reaffirmed their support for President Mohin Naqvi.

The ACC president called for the meeting for July 24, while member representatives should arrive in Dacca on July 23. Meanwhile, India and Sri Lanka officially asked that the meeting be postponed or moved to a different place, citing their opposition to Bangladesh as a host.

As tensions increase, initiates say that the future of the annual session is now at stake.

Last month, it was reported that the highly anticipated calendar of ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 will be announced in July.

According to a report, the United Arab Emirates (water) have become a strong competitor to welcome the prestigious tournament due to the dead end between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and BCCI.

The Indian media also indicated that, if the plans were smooth, the tournament should start the second week of September, September 10 being considered a date of provisional start.
