Quetta:

The president of the Pachtunkhwa Mill Awami (PKMAP) party, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, made the alarm on the rise in tensions in the Middle East, in particular between Iran and Israel, warning of serious repercussions for Pakistan.

Explaining at a press conference in Quetta, the veteran politician and leader of the Pakistan Constitution Movement Urge the Nation to avoid ending in external conflicts, declaring: “Proxy wars come back to our region – and we have to wake up before it is too late.”

Achakzai deplored the long -standing constitutional challenges of Pakistan, recalling how there have been delays initially deliberate in the drafting of a constitution. Once established, he said, the Constitution was systematically undermined. He painted a dark image of the current state of the country, describing it as bogged down in a deep political, constitutional and economic crisis.

The remarks came following a two -day meeting of the central committees and work committees of the PKMAP. Achakzai accused the current government of lacking legitimacy, declaring that the public mandate had been stolen and that the Constitution was openly raped. “If this government remains in power, it will inflict irreparable damage to the country,” he warned.

Citing a recent World Bank report, Achakzai noted that more than 45% of the Pakistani population now lives below the poverty line. He criticized the disproportionate allocation of the national budget in the service of debt and defense, to the detriment of public well-being. The head of the PKMAP also denounced the legal, media and leaders elites for having omitted to protect democratic principles and proposed the seizure of the illegal assets of civil servants to help compensate for the national debt.

Achakzai reiterated his request for the immediate release of the founder of PTI, Imran Khan and other political detainees.
