Frank Valentini, showrunner of General Hospital, announced the death of Denise on Friday May 9, via X.
“I am really sorry to learn the death of Denise Alexander. She broke the barriers on the screen and out of the screen, representing Dr. Lesley Webber – one of the first women doctors on day television – for almost five decades,” he wrote.
Frank also wrote: “It meant so much to make him take over his role in recent years and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with her.”
“On behalf of the whole family of the general hospital, I extend my sincere sympathies to her family, her friends and longtime fans. That she rests in peace,” he added.
Denise began her acting career in 1945 as a child artist at 6 years old. Throughout her career for several decades, she appeared in several television soaps, of which The clear horizon And General Hospital.
