Adam Sandler made an unexpected appearance at the 2025 Academy Awards during the opening monologue of Conan O’Brien, where the two presented a demonstration of playful jokes.
The 58-year-old man, following his tradition to bring down relaxed clothing to official events, attended the 97th Oscars on March 2 wearing a bright blue hood and a navy blue basketball shorts.
O’Brien took note, jokingly comparing Sandler’s outfit to someone, “dressed like a guy playing video poker at 2 am”
Responding to his siege to the Dolby Theater of Los Angeles, Sandler said: “No one even thought about what I was carrying until you got to know!”
He continued: “What do you know, Conan? I like my appearance because I am a decent person. What I wear or wear does not matter.
Although O’Brien offered excuses, Sandler finally decided to leave the auditorium, leaving the participants in hysterical laughter.
Before leaving, he managed to integrate into a final joke, invited the participants to a basketball match after the ceremony and shared a light moment with Timothée Chalamet, hugging him in his arms and giving him a fun kiss on his head.
