Adam Sandler is one proud father, especially when it comes to seeing his daughters shine on screen.
The beloved actor opened up about working alongside Sadie Sandler in her film Jay Kellyand he could not help but rejoice in his talent.
“I just love being around them, whether it’s on set or at home when we’re clicking. It’s the best,” Sandler said. E! News on Dec. 1, reflecting on what it was like filming with her kids.
“It’s just been fun these last few weeks where we’ve been running together. They’re doing stuff, and Sadie is in Jay Kelly. She plays my daughter. They are both very good children.
His daughters, Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 17, grew up on the sets thanks to Adam and their mother Jackie Sandler, who regularly appears in his projects.
Now the teens are taking on more roles themselves and Adam loves seeing them pursue what they love.
“They love to play,” he shared. “They’re kind of interested, like they want to do this with their life, so they just shoot for them and want them to have a beautiful, happy life.”
While Adam built his career in stand-up before becoming a Hollywood favorite, his daughters focus on acting rather than the stage.
“They don’t want to have [into] that,” he joked, referring to his roots in stand-up.
“They just want to play. They’re really funny and nice kids, and no matter what they want to do, I want them to be happy.”
He also admitted that Sadie and Sunny took his advice, but ultimately had their own plans.
“They listen to me and then they choose their own path that they want to follow,” he said.
For Sandler, seeing Sadie play his daughter on screen is just another reminder of how far he’s come and how excited he is for the next step.
