Stressing the deterioration of the situation of public order in the province – in particular in the newly merged districts, Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa, the chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, attributed it directly to the security situation in neighboring Afghanistan.
He made these remarks during his meeting with the British High Commissioner in Pakistan, Jane Marriott, at his office on Tuesday. They discussed questions of mutual interest, in particular the role of British donor agencies in public well-being initiatives, regional security and other relevant questions.
During the meeting with British HC, Gandapur underlined the need for serious efforts and results in the results to find a lasting solution in this long -standing question, warning that if the security challenges in the merged districts are not treated quickly, they could degenerate and affect the whole country.
He also informed the British envoy that the provincial government had formed a JIRGA to initiate dialogue with Afghan counterparts, and all the preparations necessary to send the delegation.

He stressed that sustainable peace in the region was not only in the interest of Pakistan, but also in the interest of the whole region and the world community. He called on the global community to work collectively towards a permanent resolution through dialogue.
By addressing the financial challenges that the province is confronted, the chief minister criticized the federal government for not having awarded the share of KP deadline under the National Finance Commission (NFC), in particular for the newly merged districts. He said that more than 2,000 billion rupes of Hydel profits are unpaid by the federal government.
