Agrus worth $ 30.9 million exported in six months

The Federal Minister of Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, presented the details concerning the export of citrus in the past six months.

According to documents, from July to December 2024, Pakistan exported 105,690 metric tonnes of citrus. During the same period, citrus exports amounted to $ 30.9 million.

Among these, $ 16.72 million in citrus fruits were exported to Afghanistan. Citrus fruits worth $ 3.90 million was exported to water and a value of $ 3.30 million was exported to Indonesia.

In total, 25 countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore and Belgium, imported citrus from Pakistan.

The minister also presented the details of the trade deficit in the past five years. According to documents, the trade deficit amounted to $ 23.16 billion in 2020 while in 2021, it increased to $ 31.8 billion.

In 2022, the trade deficit still reached $ 48.35 billion; In 2023, the trade deficit decreased to $ 27.47 billion and in 2024, the trade deficit further fell to 24.11 billion dollars.
