Pre-published police recorded a murder case against 15 identified people and several unknown suspects after a member of the Ahmadiyya community was lynched by a crowd outside the Ahmadiyya room in the Saddar region of Karachi on Friday afternoon.
According to the Preedy police station, Sho Shabbir Hussain, the case (FIR n ° 253/2025) was filed under articles 302, 147, 148, 149 of the Pakistani Penal Code, with article 7 of the anti -terrorist law (ATA).
The complainant, Abdul Naeem, a resident of the district Shaheed Benazirabad, told the police that he had come to Karachi on April 18 to visit parents at the residence of his cousin Laiq Ahmed on Tariq Road.
Around 1:30 p.m., he received a phone call informing him that his 47 -year -old cousin, Laiq Ahmed – in Nazir Ahmed – had been attacked by a crowd near the Hashoo Center, near the Mazda hotel in Saddar, and had been taken to the civil hospital.
Naeem said he had rushed to the hospital with family members, where doctors confirmed that Laiq had died of his injuries. Later, when he visited the incident site near the Ahmadiyya room, he learned that a large group had surrounded and violently attacked Laiq around 1:15 p.m., leaving him serious head and face injuries.
