AJ Dillon wants to make a good impression when he takes the ground with the defending champions of the Super Bowl on September 4.
The ball carrier spent his first five years in the NFL with Green Bay packers, sharing touches with Aaron Jones for most of his mandate. Dillon missed the 2024 season with a neck injury, but the Philadelphia Eagles signed him in a free agency – and it is obvious to see why he joined the birds.

Reid also won the tournament last year.
Dillon’s results were not what he hoped, saying: “There are chess sharks in the league”, but he added that the game of chess is an ideal warm -up for football.

“I think that the mental song of football is such a big thing. I think that when you talk about what distinguishes people, because obviously, everyone is talented at the college level, and at the NFL, everyone is big and strong, but it is this mental piece,” continued Dillon. “How much can you collect information?” How can you rethink the screening report, etc.?
“You can only do a lot of football, so always trying to challenge your mind, but also to get rid of football. Chess is a great way, and trying to stimulate the mind in different ways, failures do this in a way you really think strategically, and there are a lot of correlations between failures and football, I think.”
Dillon was also able to collect funds for his charity, which he started last year.
“Being able not only to play chess and have fun, but also to be able to have additional money to make a donation to a great cause as everyone can make for everything they represent, it is a huge blessing in itself,” he added.
Dillon’s competitive nature will not let him call it after an appearance below the tournament.

“Next time, I will be much better. It really made me hungry. I’m a competitor,” said Dillon. “It’s good, my first time. I know what the competition looks like, so I have to intensify. I downloaded the Chess.com application on the phone, so when I had downtime, I will certainly play a few exhibition matches and things like that. Definitely watching Bove the Tables next year.”
