Ovechkin has entered the match, needing two to equalize and three to become the new King goals – he turned on the lamp just four minutes from the match against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Just over five minutes after the start of the third period, the capital continued the power game; An obvious scenario on the ice for Ovechkin, and he took advantage of it. He took a pass and crammed it by Spencer Knight.
All the capitals came to the ice while Ovechkin had a strong and long ovation.
Gretzky was in the building to start his trek to follow Ovechkin along the way – but he will not follow any longer. At the time of the publication, there were even more than 13 minutes left in the game.
Ovechkin was drafted with the first global choice in Washington in 2004, but due to the lockout, its beginnings were postponed for a year.
Well, he compensated for the time wasted. And it is not a feeling of compilation of statistics either, because Ovi always seems to be at its peak. During his 20th NHL season, the record goal was Ovechkin’s 41st goal of the year, which ranks third in the NHL behind only Leon Draisaitl and William Nylander.

Alex Ovechkin Cotes: When will he break the score record of Wayne Gretzky?
This is the 14th time that Ovechkin scored 40 goals in his career-if the league had not yet been locked in 2012-13, he would probably have 15 seasons of this type (although he led the League that year with 32 goals). He led the NHL in the goals nine times.
What is even more impressive is that Ovechkin missed almost two months of this season with a broken leg.
Ovechkin seemed to slow down just a bit last season, only scoring “” 31 goals in 79 games. But maybe he got juice, knowing that he could break the record this season.
Oh, and while Ovechkin broke records, the capitals are contenders for the Stanley Cup – their 105 points are the second largest number of the NHL.

The good news for Gretzky is that if you remove the 894 of his goals, he always has the most points in the NHL history.
