Alex Warren reflected on his life before fame and the struggles he went through to gain public validation.

In an excerpt from his upcoming interview on CBS MorningsWarren shared what her life was like before becoming a hit.

“My whole life, I wasn’t the best singer in my class. I wasn’t amazing. My choir teacher didn’t believe in me, to say the least,” he admitted.

Warren further admitted that he felt like his voice wasn’t one that people would appreciate. “They liked Justin Bieber, writing songs about girls, a good-looking guy,” he explained. “And I was a chubby white kid who was more red than anything else.”

He added: “I think I’ve worked really hard to become who I am today and this is one of those moments where I was able to look up to the sky and be quite happy.”
