Alex Warren had a horrible experience performing at her first Grammy Awards this year, but Chappell Roan was one of the people on her side who offered her support at the time.
The 25-year-old pop star faced a technical glitch during her performance at the show, which left her feeling like her career was over.
However, The Ordinary The hitmaker shared that after nailing the performance despite not being able to hear himself into the microphone, he told Alex Cooper on Call her daddy podcast, that with his head on his wife’s shoulder, he spent the rest of the ceremony feeling “helpless”.
Warren shared that Roan, 26, noticed his distress and approached him in his seat. “Chappell 100 percent saw that I was completely distraught and she came up to me. She said, ‘Man, if anyone understands, it’s the people in this room, and you looked amazing,'” he said.
The Best New Artist nominee said he “will never forget how adorable she was because of that.”
In the same podcast, Warren told the host that the show had been rehearsing all week and had gone well except for the main day.
“They say ’30 seconds.’ I said, “I can’t hear anything, I can’t hear myself.” It’s live TV. Twenty-five seconds. I said, ‘Guys, something’s wrong,'” he said, recalling the incident.
He had a moment to decide and he decided that “this is meant to happen” and went on stage to continue the performance despite the lack of technical support.
