- Amazon has launched early access to Alexa + for selected users, but some features are missing
- All the features presented during its February launch event will not be immediately available and will rather be deployed in games in the coming months
- While Alexa + is available only on Echo Show 8, 10, 15 and 21, we expect what happens on more echo devices as more and more features become available
When Amazon announced its new Alexa + Ai-Rised vocal assistant, we were more excited to finally see Amazon’s response to Chatgpt and Apple Intelligence comes to life. In our live blog, we speculated on a role of March 31, and it seems that we were right, because Alexa + began to move to selected users in the United States on certain Echo devices, but it would not be a major launch without a few catches.
During the Amazon aircraft event in February, the company was proud to boast of the abilities of voice and reworked Alexa +, but a Washington Post report identified that Alexa + lacks a certain number of practical features. They will be revealed in waves in the coming months, but it looks like a broken promise in some respects.
What is missing from Alexa +?
Amazon has promised a range of new features for Alexa + which have provided a more interactive and personal experience with the voice assistant, in particular its ability to provide food recommendations and place commands via Grubhub according to what you want. This functionality has the potential to be a saving grace for indecisive gourmets, but it has been delayed until further notice.
Other useful generative features have disappeared from the early Alexa +access, including its ability to think about gift ideas when pressures in the purchase of gifts become too intense, and its tale mode functionality for children has also been postponed. The message also observed that Alexa + did not have the possibility of visually identifying family members around your home – who were both demonstrated during its launch event – and the web version of Alexa + is also unavailable.
According to the initial post report, Amazon said that these features lacked Alexa + simply because they “do not yet meet Amazon standards for public publication”. It is reassuring to know that Amazon plans to strengthen the features of Alexa +, but you will only have to stay patient for a few more months.
So what can Alexa + do for the moment?
Despite the missing features, the early launch of Alexa + is not completely dull. Since he started deploying yesterday (March 31), Alexa + can order an Uber, search for special products and make emails. While you will have to wait a little longer for the integration of Grubhub with Alexa +, you can always use the voice assistant to give you advice on what to cook.
Alexa + is accessible for monthly subscription costs of $ 19.99, but Amazon Prime members will have full access for free.
