- Alien: earth will not refer to what happened in the films that take place before that
- One of his producers says that it gave his creator more freedom to tell his own story
- Fans want to know why the events of previous films are not mentioned in the FX television series
One of Alien: earthThe producers have confirmed if events in films took place before the franchise television program that had been taken into account for its history. In short: no.
Discuss with Techradar in advance at the start of the science fiction horror series in mid-August, David W Zucker admitted Alien: earth Do not actively ignore what has been described in the previous films which predate the program from the point of view of the chronology. However, Zucker argued that there was “not much mythology to face” of these films before Alien: earthDevelopment – A comment which is surely to prick the interest of longtime fans, and to confuse and / or to flee Stranger devotees.
Before entering the nitty-grity of what Zucker really said, let’s look at the facts: in the universe, Alien: earth takes place in the year 2120. This placed it two years before Stranger And the films led by Sigourney de Sigourney who follow.
The only films that are sitting earlier on the Stranger The chronology is therefore Prometheuswhose main story takes place in 2093 (although the film begins in 2089), and Alien: Alliancewhich takes place in 2104. You can see what we have done with these films, as well as their brothers and sisters, in our best Stranger Classified pieces of films.
But I’m getting lost. Considering what’s going on Prometheus And Alien: Alliance – I will not spoil what is happening for anyone who has not seen one or the two films – the fans wondered if Alien: earth will be addressed to the mythology of the franchise which has been detailed in this pair. They are part of the Stranger Chronology, which makes their stories canon and therefore open to being referenced in the original FX TV, right?
This is not the case, Zucker indicated when I asked him to clarify things for the base of fans perplexed the property.
“Fortunately, as [series creator] Noah [Hawley] Already said, there was not much mythology to face, so that left him a lot of latitude, “replied Zucker.” But that was something that came from all the fabric of Noah’s mind, and something that through the historical relationship he had with FX.
“As soon as [FX Chairman] John Landgraf was able to seize the opportunity to explore a series in this space, there was honestly no one as much as he could have type.
“Then, the relationship he [Noah] And Ridley really became one, “added Zucker.” Noah used the original film as a starting point to trigger its own socket and fresh history in a standard environment. It has become the one from which we have really benefited all the originality, creativity and freshness of thought in the story he has chosen to tell. “”
Zucker’s comments blur the waters of what has been said by other people involved in the production of Hulu and Disney + Show.
Addressing Variety at the end of July, the president of FX Entertainment, Gina Balian, did nothing to clarify things, saying: “Everything does not have to adapt as you expect from Marvel. Fans do not expect that in this universe. He does not have the same pressure.”
Elsewhere, Hawley told Empire Magazine (by Popverse): “This first film was released in 1979 and Prometheus was released in 2012 … So you are talking about almost 40 years old during which there was no black goo, no David, no engineers. StrangerFor me, is cooked like these creatures that have existed for millions of years. These are perfectly advanced species. What you have to do is tell these stories of a fans organically in you. “”
Not exactly erase things, isn’t it-but what do you think? Is it important if Alien: earth Address what happened in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant? Let me know in the comments.
