Alishba Khan Barech of Nushki, Balutchistan, was selected as a finalist for women in 2025 changing the world prices.
Among 751 preselected nominations, the judges selected Alishba Khan Barech as a finalist in the youth of the year, recognizing her extraordinary contributions to literature, advocacy and young people, said a press release Press published Friday.
Originally from Nushki, near the Afghan border – a region often associated with activism – Alishba is determined to redefine its heritage. Instead of an activist, she hopes to be the one who shapes her story. She is the youngest novelist in Pakistan, after having written her first novel at 11, and the youngest memorist in the country, starting her memoirs at 14. In 16 years, she has become the youngest self-published author of Pakistan.
Her journey extends beyond literature – she was an ambassador for Pakistan from UNICEF to the eradication of polio, youth ambassador for mental health in the campaign on my spirit of Unicef and Ambassador Young people for Quetta gladiators.
