Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced on Tuesday that all officers of its aeronautical security management were internationally certified as air security inspectors, following a training program sponsored by the United Kingdom provided by instructors accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (OCAI).

Certification, facilitated by the British Department for Transport (DFT), marks an important step in the alignment of Pakistan’s airline protocols with global standards. This decision should improve regulatory surveillance, strengthen compliance and increase Pakistan’s note as part of the OACA global audit framework.

“This training will play a central role in improving the capacities of our national aviation security inspectors and will help increase compliance with international standards,” CAA said in an official statement.

Directed in Pakistan, the training program was led by qualified British instructors from ICAO and officially appoints all CAA officers from the Directorate of Security as certified inspectors.

This accreditation allows them to carry out safety and compliance assessments in accordance with the OACI Universal Security Audit Program (USAP), which assesses the effectiveness of the Safety States of International Aviation Security.

Pakistan previously obtained a high classification in Southern Asia by the effective ICACI implementation rating, a global reference measuring adherence to international air and safety standards.

In addition, the CAA said it extended its inspector training programs through international university internships. Two officers were selected for third cycle studies entirely funded in France and South Korea, by coordination with the respective civil aviation authorities of the two countries.
