After the District of Bloodhar, an identical case of alleged abduction and forced conversion of the religion of three Hindu girls surfaced in the district of Tando Allahyar where the families Kolhi and Meghwadh also deposited FIR with the police. Three separate FIRs were recorded on Sunday at the Sultanabad police station, declaring that young women had been kidnapped from different localities within the limits of this police station.
Parents also allegedly alleged that their daughters, including Khenchi Kolhi, Lata Devi Meghwadh and Meena Meghwadh, were forced to change their religion in Islam on July 13. The Hindu community has also organized sit-in demonstrations, demanding an arrest of alleged abductions. According to them, the girls were minor and, therefore, they cannot marry under the law.
Tanveer Brohi and Qadir Brohi were accused in the FIR for kidnapping Khenchi; Saeed Ahmed Kharal, Ali Akbar Punjabi and Mashallah Brohi for Lata; and Ali Sher Brohi and Abdul Sattar Brohi, the two brothers, for Meena. The FIR numbers 44/2025, 45/2025 and 46/2025 were recorded under articles 365/B and 34 of the Pakistani Penal Code (PPC).
The demonstration ended on the police insurance that it would stop the accused and recover young women. Meanwhile, Tuesday, the three women appeared in front of the circuit bench of the High Court of the Sindh High Court with Tanveer, Saeed and Ali Sher. They declared before the SHC that they had gladly changed their religion and that they had married the three men. Women have also changed their Hindu names in Muslim names after conversion. Their new names are Kalsoom, Bisma and Samaima, they informed the court which granted a protective deposit to couples.
The president of the Sindh Human Rights Committee, Iqbal Ahmed Detho, wrote a letter to SSP Tando Allahyar on Tuesday, asking him to ensure an equitable investigation into the issue, in particular with regard to the ages of young women. He reiterated that if they were minors, the solencing of marriages would be equivalent to the law on the marriage of children Sindh, 2013.
