Todd Howard, director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, gave an update on the development of the long-awaited game. Ancient Scrolls 6which he says is still not close to being launched.
Speaking in a recent interview with GQ amid the release of Fallout 4 Anniversary EditionHoward confirmed that Ancient scrolls 6 is “still far away”.
“I preach patience,” he added. “I don’t want fans to feel anxious.”
Ancient scrolls 6 was revealed in June 2018, and its announcement has become as old as The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim It was January of this year at the time. Now, more than seven years later, there’s still no sign of the highly anticipated sequel, but Howard said the studio “did a big playtest” earlier this week, suggesting development was progressing steadily.
“I like having a break between them, where it’s not like a ‘plus one’ sequel,” Howard said of directing Ancient scrolls more games. “I think it’s also good for the audience to take a break… Ancient scrolls It’s been too long, let’s be clear. But we wanted to do something new with Star Field. We needed a creative reset.
A release date for the next Elder Scrolls title is unlikely to be revealed anytime soon, with Howard explaining that he likes to “just announce things and release them” when they’re ready.
“My perfect version – and I’m not saying it’s going to happen – is that it’s going to take a while and one day the game will appear.”
In the meantime, Bethesda has released several games, including Star Field, Fallout 76and more recently, Fallout 4 Anniversary Editionwhich compiles the base game, the six expansion packs and additional community content.
The shadow also fell The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered in April of this year for current-gen consoles and PC, without any official announcement, taking fans by surprise.
When asked if Bethesda would also do a shadow drop Ancient scrolls 6 as Oblivion: RemasteredWhen the time came, Howard didn’t immediately dismiss the idea.
“You could say it was a trial run. It worked well,” he said.
