- Amazon launches a cheaper 16 GB Kindle Colorsoft
- There is also now a Kindle Colorsoft for children
- The two new models are available for purchase now
In our effusive criticism of Amazon Kindle Colorsoft, we said it was difficult to return to a Kindle black and white experience once you have tried the color version – and now there are two other models to choose if you plan to make the change.
First of all, there is a 16 GB version of the original, in the process of half the storage available on the 32 GB model which was launched last October. Since you can still wrap thousands of ebooks there, and it is cheaper, it may be an even better purchase than the existing model.
The 32 GB Kindle Colorsoft can be yours for $ 279.99 / £ 269.99 outside of offers, while the new 16 GB edition of The Ereder will cost you $ 249.99 / 239.99 £ – This is not a huge economy, but that’s something. By the way, these models must be launched in Australia, so the price of the AU is TBC.
In addition to the storage being cut in half, the cheaper Kindle Colorleoft is done without the front features and the automatic adjustment wireless load. You get three months of Kindle Unlimited included, and the reader is available for purchase now.
Think of children
The other new model that Amazon has announced today (July 24) is the Kindle Color-OFTOFT Kids, which, as its name suggests, is for children. It adds to the current range of models adapted to the children you can get for the Kindle Amazon Standard and the Kindle Paperwhite Amazon.
This device costs $ 269.99 / £ 259.99, and comes with a year of Amazon Kids + subscription service – offering a wealth of applications, games, videos, ebooks, audio books and other content adapted to children – and a “fun coverage for children”.
As with other Kindles for young people, you get additional features: the vocabulary manufacturer and Word Wise tools to learn new words, a special Opendyslexic font and Bluetooth support for listening to electronic books.
The Kindle Colorsoft Kids is also available now, and like the other Kid models, a two -year warranty you can enjoy if it breaks. These two models are likely to make their way in our guide of the best Kindles in time.
