- According to rumors, AMD plans a faster vision of its RX 9070 models
- This GPU ‘Ultimate Navi 48’ is supposed to be prepared for a Q2 version
- AMD apparently targets a performance level between the RTX 5070 TI and RTX 5080
AMD could publish a faster vision of its GPU RX 9070 from T2 2025, according to a new rumor.
Moore’s law is Dead (MLID) has a new video on YouTube that discusses a range of subjects through the new GPUs of RDNA 4 of AMD, with the excellent RX 9070 XT and Vanilla 9070 having been sold yesterday – and part of The Chatter here is more strengthening of what we have already heard about the MSRP of these advice.
Before entering it, however, the most interesting revelation here (in my book) is that AMD is supposed to produce a new RDNA 4 graphics card using the Navi 48 chip – the RX 9070 models are built on – with the GPU pushed towards absolute maximum.
According to one of MLID’s sources in a large American retailer, the AMD graphics card manufacturing partners were informed of a GPU `Ultimate Navi 48 ” which could be published in the second trimester, although I suppose it would be more around June than Adil (because it is the first murmur of such a table).
Team Red apparently draws for a performance level between the RTX 5070 TI and the RTX 5080. By appointing, this GPU would probably be an RX 9070 XTX (or 9070 XT Extreme Edition as suggested by Mlid).
Mlid has nothing else to share on this theoretical graphics card in terms of how the specification could take place, so it is a rumor at an early stage, that’s for sure.
As mentioned, the YouTuber also talks about the RX 9070 launch offer, which was apparently triple the volume of all of the Blackwell GPUs (all RTX 5000 models) which arrived until the end of January.
Mlid says that the supply of RX 9070 boards will be more robust than the NVIDIA RTX 5000 models in the future – not only at launch – with obvious warning.
This socket is that only a percentage of DNA graphics cards of the RNA 4 was sold to the PDSF, and as we saw yesterday, once the initial lot had disappeared, these basic boards have become a little more expensive.
If you hope to enter one of the new AMD graphics cards, do not forget, we are here to give you a head start with the security of your purchase of our guide on where to buy the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070.

Analysis: an explosive Q2 signals – and AMD has clearly left better than Nvidia
Presumably, with the supposed RX 9070 XTX, or Extreme Edition, we would consider reinforced clock speeds, and perhaps more VRAM (perhaps with the marked memory on the speed of speed too, Mlid spectile). Anyway, but AMD could go with the specification, the intention is clear enough – to produce a GPU which would be roughly equivalent to a (theoretical) RTX 5070 Ti Super, or roughly.
What is also officially planned in the second quarter, as announced by AMD at the RX 9070 reveals at the end of February, is the start of the RX 9060 models, bringing more fodder favorable to wallets in the GPU world. So, in theory, there is a lot to hope while we are heading towards Q2 which only begins in a few weeks.
As for the launch of the RX 9070, from what I saw, the stock seems to be present in reasonable quantities – even if the graphics cards of PDSFS are sold fairly quickly (but not in the blink of an eye).
Is it just that there are no more MSRP tables now, because AMD is only willing to subsidize a limited number of RX 9070 graphics cards to obtain them at this price level for the day on the sale, so the recommended launch price is technically correct?
Well, this is not an ideal situation, of course. Mlid tells us that the entry-level price for the RX 9070 XT is likely to be around $ 670 in the future in the United States, and by looking at the prices of the United Kingdom now, the entry-level tables 9070 XT are actually in stock, but they are now 10% compared to the PDSF (almost the same as the expected American price).
However, as Mlid points out, at least one increase of 10% is not terrible – when the 9070 XT has good value in the first place, certainly – and there is still stock available at least in the United Kingdom (not in the United States, the spirit, which I can see at the time of writing).
With the replenishment which should also be more robust, with the RDNA 4 graphics cards of AMD, it is at least much better than the situation with the NVIDIA RTX 5000 GPUs. That said, it would be difficult to imagine a very worse launch scenario than Blackwell, unfortunately.
Team Red did well here, then, in balance, but it remains disappointing for me that the PDSF of RX 9070 models has proven to be an illusion spell thrown by AMD. However, with a magic of Black Friday or Prime Day, the requested prices could return later this year …
