- The Venice processor doubles the bandwidth with up to 256 zen nuclei 6
- 2027 Rack AI should deliver 144 GPU with Verano fleas
- AMD provides for the deployment of Verano and MI500 with an infrastructure of 36 racks
During his recent AI AMED event, AMD revealed some of the first technical details on its new generation Zen 6 processor, the code name “Venice”.
Built on a 2 nm process and exciting up to 256 Zen 6 cores – an increase of 33% compared to the Epyc ‘Turin’ current generation processor – AMD seeks to increase the bar for the optimized AI calculation power.
It is expected that it is more than the double -memory bandwidth compared to the current Epyc processors, reaching 1.6 TB / s per socket. Venice also supports PCIe Gen6, offering faster communication between CPUs and GPUs.
Push the envelope
“Venice extends our leadership with each dimension that counts in the data center,” said Lisa SU, CEO of AMD. “More performance, better efficiency and a total cost of exceptional possession.”
“It offers 70% more calculation performance than our leadership processors of the current Turin generation,” she added. “And to really continue to feed the MI400 with data at full speed, even on a rack scale, we have doubled both the GPU and the memory of memory and Venice optimized to operate at higher speeds. Now we have just recovered Venice in laboratories and that looks fantastic.”
While Venice made the headlines in the platform in 2026 AMD, SU also gave us an overview of what the flea giant works for 2027.
“We are already deep in the development of our Rack 2027 which will push even more the limits on performance, efficiency and scalability with our next generation Verano processors and the GPUs of the Instinct MI500 series, so a lot, a lot to come from the AMD,” she revealed.
This new system is based on the “Helios” rack illustrated for 2026, which houses 72 Mi400 GPU on 18 racks. For 2027, AMD provides an even larger configuration with 36 racks.
Assuming a similar configuration, the new generation Rack AI can contain 144 GPU. The Verano platform should maintain the high bandwidth and the efficiency of the performance established by Venice, probably with more memory and calculation by Rack.
AMD did not officially appoint its Rack 2027, but we mean that it is informally informed in the circles of industry as a continuation of Helios on a larger scale.
