- RTX 5060 Ti of Nvidia is already present in the best GPUs for steam players

The NVIDIA RTX 5060 TI GPU has only been released for a month and a half, but it has already been established as a better -selling graphics card than the RX 9070 models from AMD, according to the latest STEAM equipment survey for May.
In fact, as Videocardz highlighted it, the new AMD DNA 4 GPUs have still not managed to appear anywhere on the most popular graphics list, according to Steam players’ platforms, while RTX 5060 TI is on a market share of 0.21% after less than two months.
This is the second largest gain of the month, behind the RTX 5070, which increased 0.33% of the GPU market share to finish 0.71%.
The RTX 5080 also exceeded 0.47%, a gain of 0.09% for the month of May. With the RTX 5070 TI increasing by 0.11% to a total of 0.38%, the RTX 5000 family represents 1.77% of all play PCs on Steam, according to this snapshot last month.
While the RX 9070 models of AMD have not yet obtained percentage points in the survey, despite the start of March launch three months ago.
Of course, take the results of an investigation with appropriate prudence, although this month does not seem to have been affected by regional quirks. Sometimes we can see a significant change in the number of PCs included in Asia, which have different material preferences, which can reveal specific GPUs as if they have gained popularity, when in fact, it is not simply the reflection of the composition of respondents of the survey.
Analysis: prices at the shelf and consumer perceptions
Why do the RX 9070 models of AMD rush in terms of their inability to have an impact on the Valve survey?
This is a delicate question to answer, but in a certain part, it may be due to supply levels and prices. The RX 9070, and in particular the 9070 XT, suffered from low stock of graphics cards at the PDSF. There are models on the shelves, but the price is inflated and you will pay a little more. At the time of the United States writing, the 9070 XT commands around $ 800, the 9070 plain around $ 650, at their cheapest price.
Despite the 9070 XT’s glowing criticism, the premium price puts this GPU well out of reach for the average owner of the PC. And roughly ditto for vanilla 9070 – or at least it puts sales considerably. The thing about the RTX 5060 Ti is that you can take one for as little as $ 390, so it’s a big difference.
Okay, it is therefore a different class of GPU, granted (XX70 against XX60), and the RTX 5060 Ti models cheaper with 8 GB of Video RAM (VRAM) also have a bite in the tail with this skinny allocation of VRAM. This means that performance is not as good as the 16 GB version of this NVIDIA graphics card, which is at around $ 500 $ 500 (all prices are correct at the time of writing).
However, the average player may not worry a lot about these differences in performance. And indeed, the RTX 5060 TI 8 GB will be enough if everything that interests you is to play less demanding PC games for a 1080p resolution without maximizing graphic options. Present this graphics card with more difficult game workloads for its TRAM loading, however, and you have problems, at least if you want higher graphic details, even at a 1080p resolution – you will consider using average details.
As indicated, however, this may not have any importance for a typical buyer who just wants to be able to afford a new peak graphics card, and which is happy to go with a RTX 5060 Ti, because it seems close (-ish) for a RTX 5070 on paper, without fully understanding the wrinkles around VRAM if the plating for the 8 GB rot.
It will be interesting to see if the Plain RTX 5060 will soon be debut in the Steam Hardware Survey – it has been faced with many criticisms and flak, to say the least – and indeed, we have RX 9060 AMD models, which are now imminent.
The pricing and availability of these more affordable DNA 4 graphics cards will, of course, be essential, and although Team Red has presented the PDSF at a very affordable level, will this be translated with the real prices of the shelves?
