AMD could have a big GPU surprise in its round for Nvidia in the CES 2026 show next January, on the basis of a index abandoned by the CEO of Team Red.
This comes from the announcement that Lisa Su (spotted by Tweaktown) is to deliver the opening speech of AMD to these 2026, in which the CEO mentions that there will be revelations on the front of the game – and with the Radeon and Ryzen products.
The press statement speaks of the opening of SU in general terms, but also addresses specific technological fields, referring to what they will be at the center of what AMD has planned for these 2026.
The key element of the presentation text is as follows: “from the leadership of AMD EPYC processors in the data center, to the acceleration activated by AMD Instinct GPU, and the progress due by Ryzen processors and radeon graphics in PCs and AI games, AMD technology continues to stimulate innovation.”
This suggests that the AI and the EPYC (servers of servers for data centers) will be the main push of its presentation, but the trick is that SU will also speak on the consumer side of AMD products, with Ryzen processors and radeon graphics mentioned specifically.
Analysis: intriguing possibilities to cover these 2026
Okay, then thinking that AMD has concrete revelations to make in terms of Ryzen and Radeon is a somewhat tenuous conclusion, granted – the CEO could simply speak in general terms of all that Amd does.
However, for me, this announcement suggests that something could happen in terms of new generation processors and AMD GPU. Remember that these types of declarations are carefully designed, and the clues are often abandoned in the media of Stokes long before an event starts, and I think that could be the case here, especially when we consider what AMD has in progress.
Namely, the new Zen 6 processors and the RDNA 5 graphics cards are underway. First taking the Ryzen office processors of office AMD, since new generation fleas should not make their debut until later in 2026, the very beginning of the year feels too early for an ad – which is more likely to be saved for Computex (in the middle of the year).
In a similar vein, the GPUs of DNA 5 (or they could be UDNA) could be even further, the current theory being that they are defined for a launch in 2026 or 2027.
Thus, none of these new generation ranges is on the horizon, but it is always possible that we can be a kind of early teaser for them.
Or, on the front of the graphics card, there is another possibility: there have been rumors that float on the fact that AMD could have something else that is planned by a high -end RDNA 4 GPU.
Admittedly, there is not much room for the maneuver in terms of frog something more powerful in the current range of raft graphics cards – but the rumor mill has disseminated the idea of a high -end RX 9080 XT which essentially launches energy consumption and clock speeds to be an upgrade on the 9070 XT (which can do a more efficient board).
Is this a realistic perspective? I am not too sure, and rumors around this alleged supercharged version of the Fleuron of DNA 4 have died recently. So, take this perspective with great caution – but if AMD has something concrete for these 2026 in terms of GPU, this could correspond.
Especially since Team Red could feel the need to go out something to compete with NVIDIA RTX 5000 super refreshments – which should now make its debut in these 2026, so timing is logical.
I remain skeptical for the moment, but the very mention of the consumer processors and GPUs is certainly an indication that AMD will have something to say about the new products in these categories is these 2026. And a head to head between the RX 9080 XT and Nvidia Super Gpus would be an interesting perspective, at the very least.
