A brutal and massive increase in distributed service denial attacks (DDOS) against American companies coincided with the involvement of Washington in the Israeli-Iranian conflict.
According to the director of Radware, the director of threats, Pascal Geenens, between June 21 and 22, 2025, DDOS complaints led by Hacktivist jumped 800%.
This spectacular increase was parallel to a 900% drop in attacks against Israel, suggesting a deliberate redirection of attention far from Israel and its most important ally.
Key groups behind DDOS climbing
The Cyber Hostility peak was largely allocated to the actions of a few specific threat groups.
Mr. Hamza, a hacktivist group known for his cyber attacks, was responsible for more than half of the attacks claimed in the United States, while the mysterious Bangladesh and Keynous team + each claimed more than 17%.
The presence of other small groups, such as Team Fearless (PS), also indicates a wide coalition, although freely organized, acting on a shared political motivation.
Radware data suggest that this alignment stems more from anti-US feeling about its position in the Middle East conflict than from any centralized coordination.
Above all, the targeted sectors during the climbing of June 22 included manufacturing, finance and the government.
Manufacturing stood out not only in terms of volume but also in its specificity, many victims linked to military and aerospace production.
This model indicates more than a random disturbance, it reflects an effort calculated to destabilize basic defense and economic infrastructure.
“In particular, many of the objectives related to manufacturing were linked to military and defense production, in particular the companies involved in air and aerospace defense systems,” said Geenens.
The nature of the DDOS attacks makes it difficult to determine long -term strategic intentions, but their use as a disturbing tool is clear.
Hacktivist -centered campaigns have historically served as early warnings in more sustained or damaging attacks.
These assaults are therefore more than digital noise, they can well predict deeper incursions.
