The Florida Attorney General, James Uthmeier, urged American masters on Tuesday to swim to certify it, he will change his sex participation policy which allows his biological male members to compete with women or to enter their locker room.
Uthmeier made the request at a press conference and said that the organization based in Florida would face a trial if it does not comply with orders. The United States Administration Committee Masters Swimming and rules updated its participation directives last month.

“The USMS allows members to register for the competition category that aligns their identity and / or their gender expression and to participate in events punishable in this category,” said new directives.
“However, swimmers will not be included in the recognition programs (as defined above) unless they swim in the competition category which aligns their sex attributed to birth or that they meet the conditions of eligibility” described in its declaration.
To be eligible for the recognition programs for women in the swimming of the American masters, politics said that “female members are eligible for recognition programs in the women’s category, whatever their gender identity or their gender expression”.
“The members of 46 XY DSD whose gender identity or gender expression are women are eligible for recognition programs in the category of women if they can establish to the comfortable satisfaction of the USMS that their gender attributed to birth is a woman,” added the policy.

Uthmeier said that politics was not going far enough.
“It is not acceptable and does not fly with Florida law,” he said via Fox 35 Orlando. “This is not true. We will use all the tools at our disposal … To make sure that we protect women and girls. It always seems crazy to me that we are having this conversation in this country, but we will always fight for Florida.
“We are the state that woke up to die, and it will continue. We will always fight for what is good and fair.”

The American swimming of masters was criticized earlier this year when a transgender swimmer won five gold medals in the women’s category.

Louisiana’s wife and long -standing swimmer, Wendy Enderle, said that she had applied for the revision of eligibility after discovering that one of the competitors she has met for years was transgender.
Because the meeting in question took place in San Antonio, Texas, the prosecutor General of the State, Ken Paxton, launched an investigation to know if the policies of the organization have violated the laws on consumer protection of Texas.
