The arrest of the Daesh-K Mohammad Sharifullah terrorist highlighted the continuous importance of cooperation against American-Pakistani terrorism, according to a statement by the spokesman for the United States Department of State, Tammy Bruce.

Sharifullah, also known as Jafar, was apprehended by the Pakistani authorities and extradited to the United States on the basis of the information provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In a press briefing Thursday, Bruce expressed his appreciation for the role of Pakistan in the guarantee of the capture of Sharifullah.

“We extend our gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for their partnership by translating justice to Mohammad Sharifullah,” she said, stressing that arrest underlines the vital nature of continuous collaboration in the fight against terrorism.

Sharifullah would have played an important role in the suicide attack in 2021 at the door of the Kabul abbey during the withdrawal of the American army from Afghanistan, an attack that killed more than 170 Afghan and 13 American soldiers.

The United States Ministry of Justice revealed that Sharifullah had admitted to having spotted the airport route before the bomb starts, in the middle of a crowd trying to flee Kabul after the Taliban takeover.

The arrest also illustrated the role of critical intelligence exchanged between the Trump administration and the Pakistani officials, which contributed to the Sharifullah confession.

The White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt congratulated the success of the operation, which she described as a testimony to the strength of American-Pakistani cooperation.

President Donald Trump praised the capture of Sharifullah in a speech at the Congress, the appellant “the best terrorist responsible for this atrocity” and expressing thanks in Pakistan for his role.

In response, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recognized recognition and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to cooperate more with the United States in the efforts to fight terrorism.

Sharifullah was accused of providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization leading to death. He appeared before the Alexandria court, although he did not plead. His next appearance in court is scheduled for Monday.

This joint effort highlights the continuous importance of the partnership between the United States and Pakistan to fight terrorism and the maintenance of regional stability.
