According to Pakistan (TTP (TTP), sophisticated American military military equipment left during the 2021 American withdrawal from Afghanistan, including Pakistan (TTP) from Tehrik-I-Taliban (TTP).
Weapons such as M16 rifles, PVS -4 night vision devices and thermal optics – originally intended for Afghan forces – appeared during recent cross -border attacks. The March 11 bombardment of the Jaffar Express train involved rifles of American origin, confirmed the Pakistani authorities.
Investigators cited serial numbers on two rifles used in this attack that have been traced to American military stocks. The Special Inspector General for the Reconstruction of Afghanistan (SIGAR) estimates that around 250,000 firearms and 18,000 night vision systems have been left behind, an arsenal comparable to that of the American Marines.
“The presence of American advanced weapons … was a question of deep concern for Pakistan’s security and security,” said the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the January documents seen by the investigators.
President Donald Trump reigned a meticulous examination in February, saying: “We left billions, tens of billions of dollars in equipment behind … all high -end stuff.” However, Pentagon officials have minimized the extent of the problem, describing the weapons recovered as a “tiny part” of the overall abandoned arsenal.
