Rawalpindi:

A former police sub-inspector was accused of having kidnapped, in illegal detention, in torture and extracting money from a Pakistani businessman based on water.

According to a spokesperson, Rehan was sent back from his functions three months ago due to prolonged absenteeism and has no more affiliation with the police service.

The alleged victim, the businessman Sajjad Ahmed, reported that the telephone numbers of the former inspector remain active and that he continues to put him pressure to settle the question.

However, the police have not yet arrested Rehan or his associates.

When the victim approached the police, Rawalpindi CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani took note and ordered immediate legal action.

Subsequently, Rawat police recorded a case against the former inspector-inspector and his four accomplices.

According to Sajjad Ahmed, who runs companies in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, he arrived in Pakistan to work and returned to his residence in a private housing company in Rawalpindi when he was intercepted near Lake View Junction.

A group of men, including Rehan Khan in police uniform and three others in simple clothes, arrested his vehicle on the pretext of checking the documents.

After checking his documents and her license with weapons, they “seated it in the back of the car and began to attack it”.

He was then taken to a two-story house where torture continued, he told the police in his complaint.

Rehan Khan would then have extorted money from the victim, transferring 50,000 rupees to his own account, forcibly taking 70,000 rupees in cash, 4,500 dirhams and car value objects – including gift boxes, a MacBook, the registration of the original vehicle, two perfumes, a pistol of 30 hips and its license.

“After having looted it, the suspects returned it to the scene with threats,” he told the police.

A spokesperson for the Rawalpindi police confirmed that after receiving the complaint, CPO Hamdani ordered a FIR against Rehan Khan and his accomplices under the will of theft, illegal detention and identification of an official.

The spokesman said Rehan had been dismissed from the service three months earlier due to a prolonged absence and had no official positions.

“An investigation based on merit is underway, and the accused will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.

However, the victim expressed his frustration, declaring that despite the fact that the officer’s telephone numbers are active and his pressure to “settle” the issue, the police have not yet arrested.
