Android 16 is now available for Pixel phones (and soon to come for galaxy phones), and although the expressive overhaul of material 3 that has been promised to us, it seems that it will happen for the Pixel Camera application in the not too distant future.
As Android Authority has spotted, the latest version of the Camera application for Pixel devices offers an overhaul of menu settings which corresponds to the expressive overhaul of equipment 3 – an overhaul intended to add more sensations and attraction to Android visuals.
The interface changes have not yet been activated, but the Android team Authority was able to make them work: we have subtle changes in the backgrounds and the spacing that really show the potential of expressive Material 3.
Although the difference in the visuals is not huge, small touches – such as checks and crossings on rocking switches – make a real difference in the ease of the page of the camera and intuitive camera parameters.
A taste of what will happen
It is frustrating that the expressive overhaul of the 3 material is to deploy a certain time, but I prefer that Google has taken its time and has obtained the new correct look, rather than rushing it and leaving us applications and interface elements that are not their best.
Although the page parameter page of the camera application may not be the most exciting screen you will have ever encountered, I really look forward to the overhaul: Android’s look has become a bit out of date in recent years, especially on Pixel phones.
I am a fan of simplicity and minimalism with regard to the interface design, but the pixel version of Android could certainly use a little more flair and emotion, without changing too much – and that is exactly what the expressive design of material 3 brings here.
Of course, all this happens while Apple Beta tests its own visual redesign in liquid glass for the iPhone and its other devices. This goes far beyond changes in Android 16, with a multitude of settings inspired by glass and transparency.
