Chicago Sky star Angel Reese explained his clear feelings about recent negotiations between WNBA and the union of his player, WNBPA, on a new collective negotiation.
Reese said the proposal sent by the WNBA to the players was “disrespectful”.
“It was a revelation for me. As, hearing things and hearing the language of things and not things that I was happy to hear. It was disrespectful the things we have been sent back, the proposal that we were sent back,” said journalists during the Wnba All-Star Weekend on Friday.

“It is important to be able to be vocal. If I sit down, it seems that I don’t care.”
Reese is one of the most popular and polarizing players in the league, and has built a large part of its current rivalry with the Caitlin Clark phenomenon dating from their university days. The recruit season of Clark and Reese in 2024 saw the League beat several records of audience and attendance, in particular because of the matches featuring Clark and the fever of the Indiana.

“Obviously, women’s basketball soar. And it is important for us to get what we want now, not only now, but also for the future,” said Reese. “It’s really nice to have veterinarians who may not play for 10 years more, but they speak for us because they know how important it is at the moment.”
The players met league officials on Thursday, and the two games did not come to an agreement. Reese is one of the many WNBA players who have expressed criticism for the treatment of negotiations by the League.
New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu said that players were not going to simply be content with “the minimum” in the negotiations, while Phoenix Mercury Satou Sabally player called the last CBA of the League a “SLAP opposite”.
WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert told the Associated Press after the meeting that the meeting was “constructive”.
“It was a very constructive dialogue. I think, you know, part of the process is obviously to go back and forth and listen to the players, they listen to us and the owners who represent the Council of Governors,” said Engelbert. “I always feel really optimistic that we can do something transformational at the end. But it’s a process.”
Reese had previously ignited a social media storm after claiming that the players were ready to sit on the games to demand higher wages during an episode of His podcast At the beginning of March while previewing the next ABC negotiations.

“I have to participate in meetings, because I hear like:” If you don’t give ourselves what we want, we sat “” said Reese.
Reese has seized its financial situation in the past.
“”The Wnba Do not pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, “said Reese.
Reese signed a recruit contract of $ 324,383 over four years before its first WNBA season in 2024. She won less than $ 75,000 in her first year and will do less than that in 2025.
In October, Reese admitted that she could not afford to pay her bills according to this salary, in an Instagram video live.
“I live beyond my means. Haine pays them bills, baby. I just hope you know that the WNBA does not pay my bills at all,” she said. “I don’t even think it pays A of my invoices. Literally, I try to think of my rent for where I stay. Let me do the calculation very quickly. I don’t even know my salary (WNBA), $ 74,000? “”
Reese said she paid $ 8,000 for rent.

“Baby, if you all thought … This WNBA check pays nothing,” she added. “Did it even paid my car note? … I couldn’t even eat a sandwich with that. I couldn’t even eat. I couldn’t live.”
The WNBA players’ union chose to get out of its current collective agreement last October, two years before its expiration. The current ACB will always cover the 2025 season, so both parties are one year to negotiate a new agreement.
