Chicago Sky star Angel Reese set a new WNBA brand on Tuesday, a few hours after the League said that she could not justify the allegations of racist remarks against her in the first match of the season against Indiana fever.
Reese collected 13 points and caught 15 rebounds during the defeat of 94-89 against the Phoenix Mercury.

Reese has 502 points and 502 rebounds.
The milestone intervened while the WNBA closed its investigation into alleged hateful comments towards Sky players. The Associated Press reported that the League was investigating specifically on allegations of racial insults towards Reese.
Reese was not asked about the investigation after the match.

“We investigated the report on the behavior of racist fans near the court during the Chicago Sky of May 17, 2025 at Indiana Fever Game,” said the League.
“Based on the information collected to date, including fans concerned, the arena team and staff, as well as the audio and video examination of the game, we have not confirmed it. The WNBA is committed to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for everyone and will continue to be vigilant in the application of our code of management of fan.”
Sky president and chief executive officer Adam Fox expressed his gratitude to the fever and the league for the investigation.
