The WNBA was investigating the so -called “comments from the hateful fans” which took place after the star of the Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark committed a fault on Reese in the third quarter of the opening of the team season on May 17. The Associated Press reported that the remarks had been directed to Reese.
However, after investigating last week, the league did not find sufficient evidence to validate the allegations.
“We investigated the report on the behavior of racist fans near the court during the game of May 17, 2025, Chicago Sky during the Indiana Fever Game,” the League said in a Tuesday statement. “Based on the information collected to date, including fans concerned, the team and the arena staff, as well as the game and video review of the game, we have not confirmed it.
“The WNBA is committed to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for everyone and will continue to be vigilant in the application of our code of fans.”

Reese was questioned earlier this month if she was able to provide the WNBA details on the incident. She did not offer details on the question of whether she had done so, saying “it is not a question of me”. Nor did she reveal what type of comments was made or any other specification on what caused the survey.
However, a few moments earlier, in this same availability with journalists, Reese said that she was receiving general support from the whole league due to the alleged incident.
“Obviously, there is no room in this league for that,” said Reese at that time. “I think that the WNBA and our team and our organization have done an excellent job by supporting me. … By going through this process, if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.”

Reese previously accused the fans of Clark racism and even allegedly allegedly created explicit images generated by the AI of the sky and having sent them to the members of his family.
“I think it’s really only fans, fans, iowa fans, now Indiana fans, who are really fair, they go up for her, and I respect this, respectfully. But sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there is a lot of racism when it comes to,” Reese said In the first episode of his podcast in early September.
“Several occasions, people have made images I naked. They sent it to family members. My family members are like uncles, sending me like:” Are you naked on Instagram? “”
