Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark both had university withdrawals last weekend, but the crowd seemed very different.
Friday, Reese, now a member of the Chicago Sky, played his Alma Mater LSU in an exhibition against the Brazilian national team, and many empty seats were spotted.
Meanwhile, Clark’s return to Iowa, also against Brazil, sold in less than an hour. Clark and his Indiana fever played the arena the first choice in total in 2024 called Home for four years. It was there that she became a familiar name in the midst of a record university career.

Although the two players say that there is no rivalry between them in the middle of many dramas on the field, Reese’s mother still managed to take a hit on a “fans base”.
The Tigers of Reese, of course, beat Iowa in the 2023 national championship, and the unofficial rivalry of Reese-Clark began after Reese narrated Clark in the last seconds of LSU’s victory. Reese’s mother, Angel Webb Reese, reminded Clark fans that day after their return competitions.
“AWW This fans base looking in the stands celebrating the” presence “while others are looking for the rafters celebrating the banners of the championship,” wrote Webb Reese in a post X. “We are not the same. Different years, the same enemies have a good day. “

The legend of basketball Lisa Leslie praises Caitlin Clark, an effect she had on the WNBA
The comment continues what was a lot discussed among basketball players and fans. Reese said last year that Iowa fever and fans had been racist towards black WNBA players.
Clark, however, did its best to remain silent in the midst of cultural wars.
“It is not something that I can control. I do not put too much reflection and time to think of things like that. To be honest, I do not see much of it,” said Clark last summer. “As I said, basketball is my work. Everything outside, I can’t control this, so I’m not going to spend time thinking about it. People can talk about what they want to talk about, create conversations on everything that is, but I think for me, I’m just there to play basketball.
“I’m here to have fun. I’m here to help my team win. We have won three games, we feel like we were able to win a few more than that. I focus on helping us. I don’t pay attention to all this, to be honest.”
