Angelina Jolie just admitted she doesn’t regret her decision to have a double mastectomy and ovarian removal.

The 50-year-old opted for the procedures after learning she carried the BRCA gene mutation, which significantly increases the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

In a frank conversation with Good morning! magazine, revealing how witnessing her mother and grandmother’s battles with cancer influenced her choice.

She explained: “I chose to have this surgery because I lost my mother and my grandmother at a young age. I have the BRCA gene, so I chose to have a double mastectomy ten years ago. And then I also had my ovaries removed, because that’s what took my mother.”

Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 at just 56 years old after battling breast and ovarian cancer.

The star admitted she’s completely comfortable with her preventive surgery decisions while preaching that every woman should make her own choice when it comes to healthcare.

Angelina added, “These are my choices. I’m not saying everyone should do it this way, but it’s important to have a choice. And I don’t regret it.”
