- A cleaner design introduces more information with minimal distraction
- Tapbacks allow quick responses based on emoji to messages
- A new layout based on a widget means more information on the screen
Apple has revealed the brand new iOS design since 2013, because it seems to introduce a brand new look and a sensation through its devices – and this also means new features for Carplay.
In addition to a multitude of new features for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the technological giant has also announced that this new fresh look will also make its way in vehicles via Apple Carplay – the smartphone mirror service which allows drivers to secure applications safely during the steering wheel.

Although it is not the complete overhaul that Apple Carplay ultra introduced, which sees Carplay extend far beyond the central infotainment display and effectively take all the screens of a vehicle, the next regular update always brings useful features.
1. Easy on the eye, easier to use
The introduction of iOS 26 will inaugurate a new “liquid glass” design philosophy that society describes as a “translucent material which reflects and refracts its environment”.
In simple, the UX acts as a small magnifying glass which highlights the content when a user interacts with him.
The look will be transported on Apple Carplay, we will therefore no longer have the two or three rows of static 2D applications icons and which seem to be out of the screen.
There is also a navigation bar on the left or right of the main screen which allows an easy jump between the most used or favorite applications.
2. The compact view reduces interruptions
Currently, receiving an appeal when using Carplay can be frustrating, as the notification of calls incoming on entertainment and annoys navigation.
Apple iOS 26 will get rid of it, because it will introduce a compact view which offers a pop-up superposition each time a call will enter.
It makes much easier to see who calls and choose to answer or reject, without missing an important turn.
In addition, Apple will also introduce tapbacks and conversations pinned over the messaging application, which makes it much easier to respond to messages with simple emojis and keep track of conversations without diverting eyes to read text trains.
It seems that Apple will respond to some of Current Carplay’s main concerns, including the requirement to juggle constantly and permanently slide between the many screens during interaction with various applications.
The introduction of widgets, which is one of the key components of Apple Carplay Ultra and a feature that Android Auto users have been able to take advantage of for a long time, allows several applications to be open effectively on a single screen.
For example, Apple Maps can resume the majority of an infotainment display, while the widgets on the side can indicate an estimated hour of arrival, a condensed icon of the current song that plays (as well as the capacity to jump from songs) and even a live flight tracker.
4. regain control of calls
Several new iOS 26 features based on the iPhone that have been designed to minimize distractions will also go to the vehicle, with a project to screen for calls on the current functionality of vocal messaging in reintegration by collecting information on the appellant and by delivering it in the form of a notification.
The driver (or anyone in the car with an iPhone, by the way) can then look at this information and decide if he can be disturbed or not. It is a practical feature to select the many fraudulent calls and irritate the sales arguments for which no one has time, especially by driving.
Hold Assist also rationalizes productivity to such an extent that he detects Hold Music and asks the user if he wants their place in the queue to be automatically held. The iPhone will then recall the user when an operator will become free.
This reduces the time spent listening to annoying music, rather than enjoying a radio station, a podcast or the Spotify playlist when you try to keep a life administrator during the road.
