- Apple just teased “Something powerful is coming”
- The teaser shows a MacBook Pro rolling out, likely a new M5-powered model.
- Although the M5 chip is almost certain, a new color option could be coming for Apple’s Pro laptops
While Apple CEO Tim Cook didn’t offer a teaser this time around — as he did for the Sky Blue MacBook Air and iPhone 16e — the Cupertino-based company’s VP of marketing, Greg Joswiak, simply confirmed that at least one new Mac was on the horizon.
A post on Now count how many m’s it used and remember what the Roman numeral V is, and we’re pretty sure this is a direct tease for a MacBook Pro with an M5 motor.

As for the exact meaning of “Coming Soon”, given the teasers Apple has posted on social media, we expect it to arrive later this week, potentially as early as tomorrow morning, Wednesday October 15, 2025.
Also in recent years, Apple has used the month of October to launch new Macs and in 2024 launched new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, a redesigned Mac mini, an improved Mac Studio and a new iMac, all with the M4 chip. Apparently we are getting at least one new Mac, which appears to be a powerful variant of the MacBook Pro with M5.
This isn’t really surprising, given Apple’s history of October launches and, more recently, rumors that the M5 Macs would debut soon. Until now, the rumor mill expected Apple to keep the functional, larger, port-filled 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, but replace the more powerful chip under the hood.
The M5 MacBook Pro will likely be the base model as well as the Pro and Max variants – that is, if Apple follows its existing naming convention.
From the teaser, it looks like the MacBook Pro in question might have a hint of blue. So while it’s not as pastel or fluid as the MacBook Air Sky Blue, the MacBook Pro could usher in a deeper navy.
Of course, we’ll have to wait for Apple to make it official, but with a teaser from none other than Apple’s SVP of Marketing, I have a feeling we’ll be seeing the launch of a new Mac imminently. And TechRadar will be the place to be because we’ll break everything down as it arrives.
