- Apple has published a new important update for MacOS Sequoia
- The update prevents a potential brick problem for users using DFU mode for device recovery
- It can be the last update of MacOS Sequoia before the arrival of MacOS Tahoe 26
Apple Tahoe 26’s macOS is now on the horizon, which should be released later this year. However, Apple has not completely finished with MacOS Sequoia, and it has just published an important update for Mac users.
As indicated by 9TO5MAC, Apple published MacOS Sequoia 15.6, a new update with a significant bug fix. This solves a problem with the inability to find and Apple Configurator to restore peripherals from the DFU mode (upgrade of the device’s firmware), which could cause a brick device if it has not succeeded.
Users should specifically enter the DFU mode (which serves as an alternative to recovery mode for the restoration of the device) for this to happen. Although users who do not plan to use DFU can always be safe on Sequoia 15.5 (and more more), it is better to eliminate the chances of breaking a device entirely by updating Sequoia 15.6.
This could be one of the latest Sequoia updates that we see before it is finally reaching Tahoe 26, which promises a variety of improvements to the macOS experience – it is already available in public beta, and it seems to be ideal for multitasking and players.
With new tools such as Metalfx Frame Interpolation, a game superposition and an improved game porting tool case, MacOS Tahoe 26 is another step in the right direction for Apple and its game support.
Analysis: The features of MacOS Tahoe 26 make me wish that I have a MacBook of the M series …
After only having used MacBook fueled by Intel, I have debated a potential passage of Windows laptops to MacBooks in the M series for a while now – and the arrival of MacOS Tahoe 26 is like the perfect time for this.
I am a great player (if it was not already clear enough), and I am not opposed to spending a heavy sum when a laptop can provide exceptional performance in productivity and multitasking, alongside the game. Yes, laptops of play exist, but the MacBook using the latest chips in the M series resemble the ideal response because of their electric efficiency.
I am tired of windows for games, and I prefer to use Steamos for its console type user interface and better game performance – but using Discord for streaming to friends in Steamos game mode, is not a simple task. Until it is addressed, I will stick to Steamos / Bazzite for pocket computers exclusively.
As for games on a laptop, MacOS becomes a more attractive operating system after each update, especially with a growing game library with titles like Cyberpunk 2077 And Resident Evil 4 Remake on Mac. Apple continuously proves that the game is on its radar, and he may well convince me to join the party.
