- A strange iPhone air and iPhone 17 pro glitch has been reported
- White caps and black blocks appear in certain photos
- Apple says it is a rare event, and a fix is already on the way
It seems that the launch of the iPhone Air and the iPhone 17 Pro did not go as well as Apple would hope for it: the cameras of these phones are strange in certain scenarios, although a fix is in progress.
The problem was reported by Henry Casey to CNN (via Macrumors), who noticed blackened sections and white scribbles in certain photos taken during a concert. Apparently, this affected about 1 in 10 of the shots taken by Casey.
According to an Apple spokesperson, this “can happen in very rare cases when a LED light screen is extremely shiny and shone directly in the camera”. Apple says that he has identified a correction for the problem, which will appear in an “to come software update”.
It is not clear if this problem also affects the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which was launched at the same time, although it was not something that the Techradar team noticed when examining new iPhones. We have asked Apple to comments and update this story if we hear.
A solution of the first day?
These iPhones are not on sale or are not shipped to customers until September 19, so there may be a troubleshooting update of the cameras available to download as soon as these devices have been not wrapped.
Apple did not say what causes the rare problem, although there are speculation in the macrumors forums that these oddities could be caused through the way iPhones take several exhibitions and combine them in one.
It is now a standard practice on smartphones of course, and means that the best parts of each snapshot can be combined to produce a unique and natural photo. It seems that here, part of this instantaneous image processing turned badly.
You can already pre -order the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone Air, with $ 1,099 $ 1,099 / £ 1,099 / $ 1,099 at $ 999 $ 999 / £ 999 $ 1799 respectively – although waiting times for the iPhone 17 pro model has been crawling since the pre -order opening.
